One Voice Written by: David Malloy, Don Cook
Originally performed by: Billy Gilman Search for audio clips of this song

Some kids have and some kids don't
And some of us are wondering why
Mom won't watch the news at night
There's too much stuff that's making her cry
We need some help
Down here on earth
A thousand prayers, a million words
But one voice was heard.

A house, a yard a neighborhood
Where you can ride your new bike to school
A kind of world where mom and dad
Still believe the golden rule
Life's not that simple
Down here on earth
A thousand praers, a million words
But one voice was heard.

One voice, one simple word
Hearts know what to say
One dream can change the world
Keep beleiving
'Till you find your way

Yesterday while walking home
I saw some kid on Newberry Road
He pulled a pistol from his bag
And tossed it in the river below
Thanks for the help
Down here on earth
A thousand prayers, a million words
But one voice was heard.

After hearing this song for the first time, I finally understood the outstanding praise from the newspaper critics. I had this song on repeat for the whole day; it's surreal how Billy can inject all that feelings and emotions into the general tone of the lyrics. You can sincerely believe in the innocence of a child as he looks out onto the world, when you hear Billy warbling away. It's got depth, it's got professionalism, it's got the meaningful lyrics; definitely billboard #1 material. It's a heavenly song.

I'm well aware of the reason behind titling Billy's album after this song. It's so... professional and so heartfelt. Even the meanest grannies will love this song.

Billy's voice is absolutely perfect for this song! Or should I say that the song is perfect for him? I mean, he was so young and the innocence that is portrayed in the song is amazing. One Voice was the song that got me hooked on Billy, so anybody that hears it would be crazy not to like it! Great job Billy, you rock!
